• Terracotta
• Dug straight from the ground
• Natural terracotta colour
• Very plastic and workable - Ideal for throwing.
• 10% Shrinkage
• Ideal firing temperature 1050°C - 1100°C
• Fires 1000°C pink (underfired or bisque), 1090°C deep red, 1150°C starting to go brown
• We produce two types of terracotta clay being:-

• Unfiltered in 20 kg bags - has a granular texture
• Filtered clay in 15kg bags - has a smooth texture
• Both are ideal for throwing and hand building.

  Comment: Has a beautiful warm terracotta colour that only nature can produce having come from the earth here in South Australia.

• Temperate range 1100 - 1300+°C
• The hotter is gets the deeper the colour

  Comment: This clay like terracotta is a completely natural product. It has been dug from the earth is 100% South Australian. It is Ideal for making glazed ware and works best with stoneware glazes fired at stoneware temperature 1200°C+
